We’re encountering an issue with the discount settings. We want the discount code to be available only to a specific customer segment, and we’ve set the customer eligibility accordingly.
However, the discount code can be used for customers outside of the selected customer segment. We’ve already checked that the segment is set up correctly, cleared the browser cache, and re-applied the customer tags, but the problem continues.
Has anyone experienced a similar issue or have suggestions on how to ensure the discount code is restricted to the eligible customer segment?

So we received a disappointing answer from Shopify Technical Support, it appears the feature to apply discounts to select segments doesn’t not work fully, any customer not logged in will be able to apply the code, they suggest a workaround that is highly likely to impact sales and discourage customers checking out, as well as the suggestion the code wouldn’t be shared, doesn’t take in account discount code/coupon finders such as honey and couponbirds…
"Going back with the issue you are having on which the customers are able to add the discount code despite not being part of the Customer segment that you set up, we had this checked by the Technical team here. The team advised that this is actually the expected behavior at Checkout when no customer is logged in, as there is no way to validate that the customer is part of the customer segment that the discount only work for. The workaround for this would be to require the login for checking out. This is found in your admin by going to settings > checkout.
While I understand it would be best to not work when the customer is also not logged in to any account, what we can assure you with is that as long as you don’t provide the code anywhere in the Online Store, the ineligible customers wouldn’t know that it exists, so they just have to make sure to only provide the code to the required customers (part of Customer Segment)."

Hi @Uniqwa_C If you are still looking for a solution to this you can try using any Discount app to achive this. I can recommend using the Discount Depot APP which offers discounts to specific customer segments only based on the tags assigned to them.
