I am writing to express my serious concern about the unavailability of the Shopify 3D Scanner feature on my iPhone 15, which is running the latest iOS 17.6.1 update. Despite having one of the newest and most advanced iPhone models, and with Shopify updated to version 9.2431.1, I am still unable to access this feature. When I reached out to your support team, I was informed that the 3D Scanner feature is only available on the iPhone 12 series.
This limitation is extremely disappointing and raises significant concerns. The iPhone 12 series is now outdated, and with the imminent release of the iPhone 16, it seems illogical to restrict such a key feature to older devices. If the Shopify 3D Scanner is not compatible with newer iPhone models, it begs the question: what is the point of introducing a feature that the majority of your user base cannot access?
As technology advances, users naturally upgrade to the latest devices. By limiting this feature to an outdated model, Shopify risks alienating users who have invested in newer technology. This is a major oversight and diminishes the value of the feature.
I urgently request an explanation for why this feature is restricted to the iPhone 12 series and what steps Shopify is taking to ensure that users with newer iPhones can access it. It is essential that Shopify addresses this issue promptly, as it directly impacts the usability and appeal of your platform.
