Has anyone else experienced their site being closed without warning? I paid for a domain through Shopify that is now tied up and reaching out to support is not helping… just being told it’s being escalated with no end in site. I just paid for marketing that I can’t even use because site was closed without no warning. I am brand new and this is so discouraging. Can anyone help me get a number to someone who cares and will help??
Hello @Timelesslinks
Here’s what I would recommend:
- Use the official support channels
Go to https://help.shopify.com/contact and log in. From there you can open a chat or request a callback on the spot. If you’re in the US or Canada, you can call 1-888-746-7439 (Monday–Friday, 9 am–8 pm ET). Outside North America, you’ll find local numbers on that same contact page. - Reference your case ID and request a manager
When you connect, have your ticket number ready and say: “I need to speak with a Trust & Safety manager or my Merchant Success Manager for a detailed timeline and the specific terms I’m alleged to have violated.” That shifts you out of the “please wait” loop. - Leverage your domain transfer rights
Even if the store is closed, you still control the domain. In the Shopify Admin under Online Store → Domains, look for “Transfer domain away.” That link will give you an authorization code so you can move your .com to another registrar and relaunch on a backup platform if needed. - Make it public
A concise tweet tagging @ShopifySupport or a post in this post with your case number and timeline can suddenly get more eyes on your issue. - Consider a backup storefront
While you’re pushing Shopify, duplicate your theme and key pages on a free WooCommerce or BigCommerce trial. That way you have a live link to redirect your ads and customers if your Shopify account remains locked.
