I am using the Shopify Debut theme. I sell some custom “call to order” products that require customers to submit a contact form rather than add the product to the cart. I created a custom product template for these products. I copied the Debut contact form (with some edits) into a pop-up and within the pop-up, I am seeing Liquid syntax error (sections/product-template-requires-contact.liquid line 22): Expected end_of_string but found pipe in "form.errors.translated_fields | size == 1 and form.errors.first == ‘form’ above the text in my pop-up contact form on my live site.
I have tried adding the contact form to the product page itself (without placing it into a pop-up) and get the same syntax error so I don’t believe the pop-up itself to be the issue. I found users with similar errors on Shopify discussion forums, but no resolution. Shopify support will not help me because of it being a customization to the theme. I have made this exact same custom product page template with the exact same functionality of a contact form pop-up in place of the add to cart button on another theme for another store and did not have any errors. So, I’m not sure what the issue is with the debut theme?
I am having other issues with functionality on my site for products with this same custom product page template that I will outline below. I am anxious to get this syntax error text removed more than the issues below because it shows on my live site and I know it should be a simple fix!
Additional issues for these products with this custom “call to order” template:

The variants and pictures for each variant are not associated

Selecting the blue product from the variant drop down does not change to show the blue product picture associated with it- The search feature in the header doesn’t work

Clicking the icon doesn’t bring up the search window as it should. Nothing happens as if it’s not clickable at all- Clicking a product image opens the product image file in the whole window

The product image on my standard product page template is not clickable at all and this should function the same way
-
Changing the variant selection doesn’t change the SKU # associated with the variant

This is a customization I added to the theme to show the SKU # on the product page and it works correctly on the standard product page template
