Just a Shop, Sir - Feedback Appreciated

Hi All,

I’ve been running my online store Just a Shop, Sir for a couple of months now and in general I’m fairly happy with it. Have had a few sales, but I was hoping some of you might take a look and tell me what I’m missing? Anything I should be doing differently? Any feedback appreciated!

Store is here.

Hi @justashopsir

Welcome to the community. You do have a very interesting store, as well as a name for it. It looks like a lot of work has been put into it already, so good job on that.

I can maybe just give a few of my impressions and hope it can help a bit.

First, the menu. I think for desktop, it is still better to have a full regular menu in the center. You do have a lot of links/collections, but you could arrange it and maybe use some mega menu option. For mobile, it is fine, but the hamburger menu is still a strange place, and the whole header is a bit too big.

On product grid, name is too close to the line, give it a bit of padding. Also, some of the products have a really long names so it takes 5 lines to read it, which is not optimal and too readable.

For collections, do use some description, use some keywords, good for SEO. You can place it at the bottom, after the products. Also, if you can place the sold-out products at the end of the collection.

Product page, I really do not like a outline Add to cart button, a lot of themes do that but I think it is wrong. That button should be full background and accent color. So the most noticeable element on the page so that customer can be easily drawn to it. You could also use a sticky add to cart when you scroll by the main Add to cart. And do think of some general sections to add for customer reassurance. And the product page looks a bit sluggish, a notisable delay on load.

But in general, a lot of good things done. Wish you luck and good sales.

Hi @justashopsir ,

We appreciate your inquiry in the Shopify Community. We are MooseDesk, a comprehensive Live Chat, FAQ & Helpdesk App designed to elevate your customer support experience.

Congrats on your new store! Especially, we were truly impressed by the consistent color and theme of your store along with the diversity of products offered.

However, I have some comments to boost sales. Here are some of my recommendations for conversion boost, please kindly check.

1. Optimize the first view of Homepage

With just a glance over the hero banner, I can decide whether to continue exploring a shop or not. At my first view of your website, I think the space above the hero banner is kinda so large that a portion of your Hero banner is cut. So try to smallen this space.

Also, as the navigation bar is the outline of your website (which your website contains), it would be nicer to display the navigation bar right adobe the Hero banner with the key sections: Home - Shop (in this you can divide into smaller categories like currently) - About us - Blogs.

2. Showcase your Best seller products with discounts

I notice that you put all product categories and new products on Homepage, which could be saved for the Shop/All stocks page. Instead, Best sellers with some click incentives (discounts, number of sales, star ratings, etc) would intrigue customers to get to know your products and decide purchases better.

3. Restructure Homepage layout & information

As a customer, I would say that your Homepage is really focused on product showcase that discourages from scrolling deeply enough to see the Value proposition and testimonial. Therefore, I suggest you reduce the number products displayed on Homepage (just Best sellers and the Categories with redirected buttons). Then the flow of your Homepage would be:

  • Hero banner
  • Brief introduction
  • Best sellers (with the preview of purchases and ratings quantity)
  • Value Proposition (to differentiate your business)
  • Testimonials (this is very crucial to build trust in customers)
  • Final CTA button

4. Add more illustrations for the product with the comments

As a consumer, I always wonder how that piece looks like in different angles and use cases. Therefore, I would highly recommend adding more illustration for your product. Also, to build consumer trust, try leveraging comments and reviews below each product:

  • Create a dedicated “Customer Reviews” section below the product description, with clear spacing and a distinctive background or border color.
  • Use visually engaging elements like star ratings, thumbnails of user-uploaded photos, and highlighted quotes from the best reviews.

5. Leverage Social Proof and Scarcity

It could be more incentivizing if you add a timing countdown (20 hours:30 minutes left…). Also, leverage Social Proof and Scarcity by displaying low-stock alerts (e.g., “Only 3 left in stock!”) to create urgency and highlighting recent purchases (e.g., “X people bought this in the last hour”) to encourage action.

Also, with that pop-up window, you can try “Add your mail and Get 10% off your first custom map – just tell us where you’re from!”

6. Add FAQ Page/ Contact Us Page to your Online Store

Your store looks great overall! To make it even better, you could consider adding an FAQ and a “Contact Us” page. These are essential for helping customers quickly find answers or reach out for support, which can significantly enhance their shopping experience.

For an easy solution, I recommend trying MooseDesk App. It provides free, professionally designed FAQ and Contact Us templates with a simple one-click setup that perfect for elevating your store effortlessly!
