Just launched a niche Shopify app for shoe & sneaker stores — looking for feedback and early users

Hey Shopify community! :waving_hand:

I wanted to share something I’ve been working on and genuinely get your thoughts.

I run a small development team and we recently noticed that shoe and sneaker store owners on Shopify spend a lot of time trying to adapt generic sections to fit their niche — things like colorway showcases, release countdowns, size charts, and hype-drop hero sections. Nothing quite fit out of the box.

So we built something specifically for them.

We just launched Shoes Sections – ShopSassify, a Shopify app that gives footwear stores ready-made, no-code sections built specifically for the sneaker and shoe niche — things like:

  • :running_shoe: Sneaker Release Countdown — live timer for hyped drops

  • :artist_palette: Colorway Showcase — interactive color switching with product images

  • :straight_ruler: Size Chart — US/UK/EU/CM guide with measurement instructions

  • :fire: Hype Drop Hero — full-width dramatic hero section for big launches

Everything installs directly into the Shopify Theme Editor, no coding needed, and works with any Shopify 2.0 theme.

We’re at an early stage and would genuinely love:

  • Honest feedback — what’s missing, what could be better

  • Connections with anyone running a sneaker or shoe store on Shopify

  • Any collaboration ideas with other developers or store owners in this space

We’re actively improving it based on real feedback, so even brutal criticism is welcome — that’s how we get better.

Thanks for taking the time to read this. Happy to answer any questions about how it works or what we’re building next! :folded_hands:

Niche-app launches always interesting, and footwear is a real niche. I scraped Shopify app pricing last week and counted 4-5 footwear-specific apps total. Real gap there.

Two questions that usually matter for niche-app survival:

(1) Distribution. Sneaker store owners don’t search the app store with “sneaker” or “footwear” in the query, they search by feature (“countdown timer”, “size chart”, “color swatches”). Where does your listing rank for those? If you’re stacked against the 30-50 generic countdown/swatch apps, your niche-tailored angle is the wedge but it needs to be above the fold in the listing.

(2) Theme compatibility scope. Are the sections built as theme app extensions (work across any OS 2.0 theme) or hardcoded for specific themes? Latter shrinks TAM fast as merchants switch themes. Worth explicit in listing.

Curious what pricing tier you landed on? Niche apps tend to underprice for their value to a small but high-intent audience.

You are right i missed it. I have focus only on shoe section keyword not on others. What should i do. There is already too much competition on that keywords.

Congrats on the launch — really interesting niche direction.

Footwear is one of those categories where presentation directly impacts conversion, so having ready-made, purpose-built sections for drops, colorways, and sizing definitely makes sense. The countdown + hype drop angle is especially strong for sneaker stores since it ties directly into urgency-driven buying behavior.

Overall, solid idea — especially if you keep iterating based on real sneaker store feedback this will really help you in growth as well .
