I just launched, I’m running an ad, I’m getting a great response. First day of ads I sold a $100 woven blanket. I need to get my inventory up. What is a good number of products overall, at a minimum, for a store to have so that it looks legitimate/professional. I think I’d be slightly more successful in sales if I had more products as well.
Also, is there a reasonable benefit for small shops/limited products to do a BFCM sales campaign? How much does amount of product/total number of items play into realizing results from a BFCM sales campaign?
There is a common misconception that having more products makes a store seem more legitimate. This is not true. In fact, some of the top Shopify stores in the world have ten or fewer products.
To look legitimate and professional, you should increase the quality of your product pages. Invest in detailed descriptions, high-quality media assets like photos and videos, and include customer testimonials. This focus on a handful of high-quality products will make your brand seem more purposeful and effective.
The number of products you have doesn’t affect the benefit of a Black Friday, Cyber Monday campaign. What matters is your ability to reach a lot of people and generate excitement. If you can do those two things, you can be very successful, regardless of the size of your product catalogue.
