Wasn’t sure where to post this, since there isn’t a Shop App category or tag. It’s mostly something I wish I could contact the developers about.
Basically we have a lot of important product data in metafields, since that is what made sense when building our website, and what was suggested by our launch engineer. However, now that we’re selling on the Shop App as well, we’re having some issues with customers not having the information they need, since basically only the product description appears on the shop app, and there’s no apparent way to customize product pages there.
Data like brand (ie vendor) name, sizing tips, and fiber content don’t exist on our Shop App store. The Shop App is a tiny percentage of our sales, so it doesn’t really make sense to completely restructure our product data around a handful of confused customers trying to shop there. It would just be nice if the Shop App developers would add some way of customizing the product pages on the Shop App to include metafields that contain the relevant information.
