Hi there,
I’m currently having an issue with my language feed created on a Shopify app which then I uploaded as a language feed on Facebook in my product catalog.
Facebook is saying that the ID of my 86 English products, in the language feed, doesn’t match with an existing item ID in my catalog, which is normal because my French products in my main feed have different ID than my English products.
Can someone help me figuring out?
Thanks,
Regards,
Hi @AntoinedeMlt
To resolve the issue with your Facebook product catalog where language feed IDs don’t match, follow these steps:
1-Ensure Consistent Product IDs:
- The product IDs in your language feed (English) must match the IDs in your main feed (French).
- Use the same product IDs across all feeds and differentiate languages by adding a language-specific attribute (e.g., “locale”).
2-Add “Content ID” Overrides:
- In Facebook, use the Content ID or Product Group ID field to unify variants of the same product across languages. This helps Facebook recognize them as the same item.
3-Edit Language Feed Setup:
- In your Shopify app, adjust the feed generation to include the same ID for all language variants. Ensure language-specific details like title, description, and images differ while maintaining a consistent product ID.
4-Update Feed in Facebook:
- Re-upload the corrected feed to your Facebook catalog and wait for it to sync.
5-Validate in Facebook Commerce Manager:
- Use the Diagnostics tool in Commerce Manager to confirm there are no ID mismatches after the update.
If the issue persists, consult Shopify’s app support or Facebook’s Commerce Manager Help Center for further assistance.
If you have other questions, feel free to ask me.
Best regards,
