The solution was:
Use a discount code (set to a discount of 0%). This way you can have a discount URL and limit the discount usage to once per customer.
I have created a discount and copied the URL, but how do I make sure that whenever the collection is viewed through the website the user is automatically directed to the discount URL?
Any Help/Advice or Alternatives ways (not using a paid for app) would be greatly appreciated
The discount method is a hack not a cure all and not a replacement for real theme customizations, or a specialized app.
It’s an advanced theme customization if you want to modify EVERY possible product url no matter where it’s found on a site.
Someone would have to go through the theme code and modify every instance where a product url is rendered.
The crude alternative is to make some javascript that modifies any such urls but that’s yet another fragile hack at best.
