Hi there, I’ve got 483 products flagged in my Google Merchant Centre as Limited performance due to missing value [gtin] despite having barcodes for each of them present in the Shopify field. I sell vinyl records, so all products have a barcode.
Has anyone got any suggestions about how to resolve this? I’ve tried to add a rule to the API in GMC to take the GTIN from the barcode, but that doesn’t seem to work either.
Gratefully appreciate any assistance, there doesn’t seem to be any advice for this.
if an item has a valid GTIN gs1 bar-code,
then the item must include the GTIN digits –
regardless of being in stock, or out of stock.
otherwise, do not submit out of stock items, at all.
blank gtin values are not allowed for items that have valid gtin.
the best likely course is to contact shopify-support directly for guidance,
on the proper way to submit variants with respect to shopping-ads policies,
and using shopify.
If you are using the free Google Shopping app, Shopify has a bug that has been going on for 2 weeks or so (search the community) currently Shopify does not seem to be working on a solution. Or don’t even know what the issue is. And put the blame on Google Merchant Center, instead of realizing its there own app.
