I engrave products, so I need a place where customers can send me the details of what they want engraved. Currently, I have this set up as a ‘special instructions’ text field on the cart page; however, it is showing on the cart page regardless of what product is added to the cart. I do sell some products that do not have an engraving option, so it doesn’t make sense for me to have that field on the cart page for all checkouts. So I need something that is product specific where the customers can provide the custom engraving details.

From what I found, I think the line item properties is what would be the right solution, but I wanted to confirm that as well as inquire on how to add it. I’m having trouble finding where to go to enter line item properties. I have found an example code to enter when I was searching in the Help Center. If I understand correctly, the code needs to somehow be entered in the product form; however, I am having trouble finding how/where to access the product form or find any other information on where to enter the code for the specific products that I need this for. For a hassle-free solution to incorporate custom engraving options, I suggest making use of the Easify Product Options app (free plan available). It enables you to create a text box for customers to input their engraved text or even a text area for special instructions, all without the need for coding .

What’s more, you can enhance the experience further by adding the font picker option type. This allows customers to select their preferred font for engraving and even preview their entered text with the selected font.
