Link multiple products to one SKU

Hi,

I have some generic products on the website, which do not specify brands or manufacturers. Staff can pick whatever brands to ship to customers based on available inventory. How should I set up this on Shopify to track the inventory efficiently? Currently, the staff needs to manually adjust the quantity after picking the items.

You can just simply add inventory on the products based on their products name and availability. You can also use inventory apps to track their inventory level and customize. You can check apps like Assisty Inventory Management, Scarcity++ Low Stock Counter, and syncX: Stock Sync

Can you be more specific? Does it mean that I need to set up 1 SKU for the generic product and display it on the website, other SKUs for the variants (based on different brand/manufacturer)? So when the customers buy 1 generic product on web, how can my inventory for the variants deduct?

If you do not need to track inventory of the different variants or brands, you could setup 1 SKU for the generic product.

Would that work?

Thanks but I need to track inventory of different variants as well. I just don’t want those variants to be displayed on the website but I want them to be linked to the generic items
