Link Preview is displaying old name

I recently updated a product on my website. It took a couple months of work to update it and while I was working on it, I didn’t want anyone buying the old version. So I made the listing “Sold Out” and changed the title to include the words “Currently Under Construction” to let my customers know that it was coming back soon. I also added a line at the top of the description saying that an updated version will be available soon. I am now finished updating my product and have changed the name to remove the “Currently Under Construction” bit and updated the description. But people are sharing the link to the product around social media and the preview that comes up on the link still says “Under Construction”. I’ve checked the search engine listing URL and it’s totally fine. Nothing on the listing says “Under Construction” anymore. What am I missing? (Also, I could not just delete the old listing and create a new one because I sell a digital product and when I uploaded the new file I wanted the opportunity to email the new file out to all those who purchased previously)

Below is my current listing title and description:

Below is my Search Engine settings.

And below is what happens when I share the link to the product on social media. It still shows the old name that I have since changed. Also, there is no photo that shows up with the link. Please help!

Hi @LandT ,

This is a relatively common issue and usually occurs due to how Facebook displays URLs in some cases. When someone shares a link on their platform, Facebook will often share a cached version of the post snippet rather than generating a new one, which means an outdated URL may display instead of your up-to-date one.

Thankfully, Facebook does offer a sharing debugger tool which can be used to remedy this issue. You can enter in your link here and press “Debug”, which will then take you to a page which displays information about Facebook’s currently cached version of your post. You can press “Scrape Again” a few times to ensure that the entire post has been re-scraped, including the updated version of the URL.

Once this is done, you should be able to share your link to Facebook with the latest version of the post displaying.
