Link to Customer's Order Status Page with a button on the website

Hi there. I’m trying to create a button on my site that will send customers to their Order Status page. Currently, I believe the only way they can get back to that page is to click on the link in the Order Confirmation email notification they receive after checkout. I have customized the Order Status page a little bit and have a metafield displaying special notices regarding their order (delays, shipping time estimates, backordered items, etc.) and I would like to put a button/link on my site that will take them back to that page.

For example, the customer wants an update on their order so they visit our site, hopefully click on a page for “Order Status” and other self help info like FAQ, etc. and then get taken back to their Order Status page that will show the special notices for that specific order. I cannot find any info for how to do this after hours of searching. I understand this is a unique link that includes their order ID and maybe customer ID.

Is there a way the customer can enter their Order # and email and it will take them to the order status page?

Do you have any logic for having value in metafield or it just contain the static data?

Hi there,

No logic - It’s just a field where we can enter any alerts or delays regarding the order.

In this case its better you put this metafield in cart attributes which can be shown in order history.

You don’t need to take users at successful screen.

To achieve this you just need to amend some code in theme.
