Linking 2 Shopify accounts to 1 Facebook account

Is there a way to link 2 Shopify accounts to a same Facebook page?

If so, would love to know how I can do it.

Hi, @raytan23 .

Thanks for reaching out and posting to the Shopify community!

At this time, you can only connect one Shopify store to one Facebook page. You’ll need to create a second Facebook page to connect to your second Shopify store.

Before connecting your Shopify store to a Facebook page, please review the Facebook Shop requirements:

  • Your Facebook account needs to have an admin role on the Page.
  • The Facebook page needs to be published.
  • You can be an admin on multiple Facebook pages, and access them all using a single Facebook Business Manager. However, every Facebook business page can only be owned by a single Facebook Business Manager.
  • You need to be the admin of both the Facebook Business Manager that owns a specific Facebook page and the Facebook page itself to connect it with the Facebook channel in Shopify.

Did you know that you can include your social media URLs on your storefront footer? This can be done directly in your Online Store > Themes > Customize section. In the theme editor, select Theme Settings on the left-hand side > Social Media where you can input the URLs. This can help drive more traffic to your other social platforms.

Please let us know if you have any questions or need help during the onboarding process for the Facebook Sales Channel.

Hi Victoria,

did anything change on this situation?

I am having a Shopify shop for Austria/Germany and one for Switzerland which we just switched over from Woocommerce.

In Woocommerce we were using a translation plugin which was not ideal for handling the two different countries but helped us in connecting to the one facebook account.

Now I would need to link the same facebook account to the two stores and would like to use a separate pixel for each of the shops to track conversions only for the respective store.

The facebook channel on Shopify however would not let me choose the facebook/Instagram account as they are already linked to the first shop.

Is there any workaround or how could I solve this?

Thx, Thomas

Hi, @Thomasehrenwort .

Thanks for joining the thread!

Currently, a Facebook Page should only be connected to one Shopify store. This is because the commerce account, which is a requirement to set up Instagram Shopping and Facebook Shop, is tied to a Facebook Page and a Facebook product catalogue. The Facebook Channel will show Pages to connect in onboarding that is already connected to other Shopify stores. If you connect a Page on another store (S****tore 2) that’s already connected to another Shopify store (S****tore 1), the commerce account that’s associated with the Page on Store 1 is disabled by Facebook.

However, it is possible to use the same Facebook Business Manager account to manage ads for multiple Shopify stores. In this case, each store would have its own separate Facebook Ad account that is linked to the shared Business Manager account. It’s important to note that if you link the same Facebook Ad account to multiple stores, there could be potential issues with ad targeting and tracking. It’s recommended to use separate ad accounts for each store to ensure accurate tracking and targeting capabilities.

To track conversions for each store separately, you would need to set up a separate pixel for each store.

Here are some steps to follow:

  • Set up a separate conversion event for each store using your tracking platform. This will allow you to track conversions specifically for that store.
  • Generate a unique pixel code for each conversion event.
  • Place the pixel code on the appropriate pages of your website for each store. For example, you might place the pixel for Store 1 on the checkout page of your website, and the pixel for Store 2 on the confirmation page.
  • Test the pixels to make sure they are working correctly.
By setting up separate pixels for each store, you will be able to track conversions and other website actions specifically for that store. This can be helpful for tracking the performance of each store and making data-driven decisions about how to optimize your website and marketing strategies. We have more information in our Facebook Pixel resource.

We have One brand, and multiple Shopify instances for different countries/regions.

After much research, we found the easiest solution in the end was to create a second Facebook Business Page for each region / shopify store. We could then connect via the Shopify - Facebook Sales Channel integration, then create separate pixels and ad accounts in FB business manager to isolate the stores.

Not ideal, we didn’t want to create FB business pages for each region/store as this is confusing for customers, but we found the alternatives to be very complex setups. In the end, we decided the trade-off was worth it, for a simple integration with Shopify. But it works.
