Hi @Nosremetnarg ,

Thank you for bringing your question to our community.

To further look into this, I will need your help with the following information:

  • Can you specify on which lab activity you’re experiencing this issue?
  • Could you install a fresh Ride theme and try that option again?
  • If the issue persists, can you share a video replication on how you got to the setting page?

JasonH,
I am having the same issue. "Liquid activity lab:
Add product navigation buttons" exercise - followed instructions exactly but navigation buttons do not appear. In the code inspector, I can see the container div but the code to generate the buttons is missing. Seems like something is missing from the tutorial.

Hi @lhanse ,

Thank you for taking the time to run with the suggestions.

To investigate further, I can use some help from your side. Can you share a video that replicates this issue you’re experiencing?

Please make sure the video includes the following details:

  • What action you’ve taken starting from the course page?
  • How did you get to the page where the issues occurred?
  • What action triggered the issue? Or where is the specific section you believe something is missing?

Thanks!

Hi

I was experiencing the same problem and after a lot of head scratching and a bit of digging, I discovered that these buttons will only render if you are viewing your product from within a collection, i.e. through the default collection template in the customizer, or by navigating to, Please contact Shopify support at support.shopify.com – Opening Soon. By default you have these two in the Ride theme, automated-collection and hydrogen.

After re-reading the instructions this is implied;

'When buyers click this link, they'll be taken to the card_product's product page, but within the context of a particular collection."

@jasonh It might be helpful to stress this vital point in the exercise instructions.

I hope this helps anyone else experiencing the same frustrations.

Best

Hi @walkonmars

I was able to add the navigation buttons without issues. However, thank you for highlighting the instructions; they can serve as a helpful reminder when learners are checking the rendered buttons.

I’ve marked your reply as the solution.
