Live Preview App Causing a Google CLS Issue

In my Search Console, I’m seeing a poor page performance on desktop due to a CLS issue - it’s caused by a live preview app I use, which loads a preview image over the first product photo. While I haven’t had any complaints from customers, and the jump is minor and quick, l’m always trying to improve my site performance for Google. How big of a deal is this, and do I need to address it? The live previews have really boosted my conversion rate, so there’s no way I’ll discontinue using it - but also hate all the red on my Console dashboard. Any advice is appreciated, thanks!

Hey @wickedbride , to resolve this problem we first need to understand why it is loading slow. While not able to be 100% sure without checking your website, from what you described, the root cause could be the way live preview is implemented on the frontend, i.e. it is loading a new image from the server whenever text input is updated (as customers type in). Currently, there are three popular ways of implementing live preview on product and this is the one that need most bandwidth due to network calls to the backend.
At Seal we just launched an app that dedicate to do live preview easily, professionally and fast. Our approach gives a quickly respond and hence better experience because it does not involve network calls to the server. You can try it for free here: https://apps.shopify.com/live-preview
