We offer a variety of DTF printing services, but one is the ability to select from existing designs that we offer and choose the color apparel they would like it printed on. I’m struggling to find an app that will take the designs I have uploaded (each product is a design) and then let the customer choose which color on which type of apparel they would like it printed on… so if they choose design 1, on a blue tshirt, it would dynamically show design 1 on the blue tshirt, if they change it to a red tshirt, it would show it on the red tshirt. Everything is uploaded, I just don’t want to have to create and upload thousands of mockups.

Teeinblue Product Personalizer has a feature specifically for this. You can change the mockup background color based on the product’s variant color, no need to upload separate mockups for every single color!
Here’s how it works when you use Teeinblue

Set up your color variants (blue, red, black, white, etc.)

Upload one base mockup for your apparel with a transparent background

Add your design to the mockup and turn on “Background by variant color”

The app automatically changes the mockup color to match the variant the customer selects with a live preview, your design stays in place and displays on whichever color they choose

In the Orders page, you get all the information you need and the design that customers chose. All you need to do is download the print-ready file to print and fulfill the order
This feature is super helpful for products with many color options like t-shirts, hoodies, etc. Many of our DTF sellers are using this exact setup.

This sounds great. I will check into more for sure. I also already have items setup on our store that I would love to keep if it’s at all possible but I’m guessing it’s not because it uses another option app. Can you please take a look at for example, the themed collection > Christian example? And pick a design… You can see I have just a transfer option or they can pick to have it put on items and then break it down by adult and youth options. I see the color options changing and if i am right i believe this is where you are using another app and colors dont change when clicking or may be i am missing something here.
Hello . You are not missing anything. I am using another app for all the options.. I setup one template with all the options and apply it to all my products at once.. but I have to create all my mockups first for hundreds of designs and colors and then upload… I’m looking for something to combine the options with the ability to select a color and it will show the design they selected from my product listing.

Hey just trying to understand things correctly here. I am someone who understands things a little late or may be i am just someone curious to get in depth to get a grasp of. Can you like do a small video explaining as a user what you want, what you have and where you are hitting a block.
It seems as if i understand but then someone trying to give you suggestions what i feel is a good answer but somehow that’s not really what you want.

This is a very common challenge for Direct-to-Film (DTF) and print-on-demand stores. You definitely do not want to manually create and upload thousands of individual mockup variations for every single color and garment combination.
Instead of saving flat images of the design on a shirt, export all of your artwork as clean, transparent .png files. Then, source a clean set of blank, flat-lay garment mockups for each color you offer (Red Shirt, Blue Shirt, etc.).
