Hi,
I want to create an online store. My company is based in Luxembourg.
It seems that the only possibility to propose multi currencies on my shop is to use “shopify payments”, but it seems also that “shopify payments” is not available in Luxembourg…
So is there a way for me to propose multi currencies to my customers??
Thanks.
Hi @viviengen ,
It is true that merchants eligible to use Shopify Payments can sell in multiple currencies, yes. However, if your store uses a third-party gateway instead, you can still offer customers the opportunity to browse products in the currency of their choice using a currency converter on the storefront. While customers will still be checking out in your store’s default currency, they can still view the cost of your products and their order in their desired currency before proceeding to the checkout.
I hope this helps but please let me know if you have questions.
Thanks for this advice but as a user, I think it could block me to buy…
Hi @viviengen ,
I understand. May I ask where your primary target audience is based? Are you looking to sell elsewhere in Europe or are you wanting to focus on international markets such as the United States?
Hi Victor,
We planned to move on Shopify… We already sell everywhere in the world (on our own ecommerce website), mainly in Europe, but our market in Americas, and in Asia is growing. We must consider them and so use local currencies, at least EUR and USD…
Hi @viviengen ,
Okay, I understand. As mentioned, multi-currency checkout can only be enabled for merchants using Shopify Payments. Outside of that, using currency apps is the next best thing. I appreciate that this may be a dealbreaker for you using Shopify but please let me know if you have any further questions.
