Hey there. I wonder if someone might be able to help out? We started offering free local delivery to people in the same town as us, however, Apple Pay seems to ignore the free shipping option and selects the standard shipping rate.
This means customers who are eligible for free local delivery (usually same or next day) are paying for postage.
Hi. Not sure where you or the customer(s) in question are located. However, I know there are limitations with Apple Pay and shipping postal codes within Canada:
Shipping limitations
Due to partial postal code availability from Apple Pay, carrier-calculated shipping rates in certain remote regions of Canada might be calculated incorrectly. Most Canadian addresses are not affected by this issue.
While it’s not a fix, if that is the issue, it might help direct you to what the issue is. Hope it helps!
I might be wrong but my hypothesis is that Apple Pay is able to pick “Shipping” rates but NOT “Local Delivery” rates.
You can explore options like using our app ShipMagic to offer free delivery to only specific zipcodes. This solution works even with out CCS and is free to test.
I am having ta similar issue with Apple Pay. I have several customers inside my 7 mile FREE LOCAL DELIVERY radius where Shopify always fails to honor the FREE LOCAL DELIVERY and adds our standard USPS shipping fee.
If you are interested in trying out the solution for my hypothesis, you can install the app and reach out to the live chat support for assistance in setting up the app. It’s free to test anyway.
