We have just opened a small physical store to go with our online business, therefore, we want to add local pickup allowing local customers to pick up their orders free of charge.
When they get to the checkout to pay, no matter where they’re located in the world, it shows the option of free local pickup.
If we’re near Birmingham (United Kingdom), we don’t want to show local pickup to someone over 10,000 miles away in Australia to add confusion (no doubt, I do love the idea someone would fly around the world from Australia to buy our products. )
For the local delivery feature, you can add a delivery radius of say 10 miles, how can we do the same with the local pickup feature aka. click and collect?

I think using the google Geolocation API we can track the customer placing the order and than display only those product which are available for local pickup by entering the zipcode on landing page.

Unfortunately, when using Shopify’s native Local Pickup & Delivery options, there is no way to change the radius of the pick-up option. That being said, there is a slight workaround you can try, however, it won’t have the same functionality.
Instead of using our Local Pickup feature, you can instead create a free shipping rate under your Shipping Settings that you title ‘Local Pickup.’ Since the rate would be under your region’s zone only, it will only display to customers in England. When it comes to fulfillment, you will need to manually let your customers know their order is ready for pickup. You can do this by selecting their email in the order sending them a message.
Another option is to use the Local Pickup feature and instead adjust the text to display ‘Local Pickup (Birmingham only).’ While it will display to all customers, it creates less confusion as it clearly states the pick-up location.
To adjust this, head to Online Store in your Shopify Admin, select the 3 dots next to the customize button, then select Adjust Default Settings/Language Settings. Then search Pickup, and adjust the text as necessary.
In the meantime, your store is fabulous! If you aren’t already, I recommend utilizing influencer marketing, especially on TikTok. The fitness community is huge on TikTok and you could really benefit from those targeted audiences!
