Logo Showing As All Black When Sharing Website

Hello,

When anyone shares our website, the logo that shows, is all black and ugly. I’ve pasted it at the bottom for reference. Here are the things i’ve tried to adjust;

  1. Favicon - Changed to many formats and even deleted, with no impact

  2. Header logo - Changed to various formats and even completely replaced - No impact

  3. Main page image - Removed all logos, changed formats - No impact

How The Website Pastes - Yuck

What else can be done to help clean this up?

Kind Regards,

Travis

Hi, @travispatten !

Welcome to Shopify Community.

The image you are referring to is typically determined by the “social sharing image” in your settings or Theme Editor. For Shopify stores, that typically means you can find this setting in your Online Store preferences.

Steps:1. From your Shopify admin, click Settings > Apps and sales channels.

  1. From the Apps and sales channels page, click Online store.

  2. Click Open sales channel.

  3. Click Preferences.

  4. Find the Social sharing image section.

  5. To upload a new image, click Add image. To change the existing image, click Edit > Change image.

  6. Select the image from your computer that you want to show on social media.

  7. Click Save.

I trust that will do the trick, but let me know if I have missed or misunderstood anything.

I look forward to your reply,

Hi Olivia,

Thank you for the detailed response and direction. Unfortunately, after following the above steps, I still encounter the same problem. Is there a chance that it takes a little while to update after the above changes are made?

Kind Regards,
Travis

Sorry, I should have tagged you @Olivia_2 . New to this, but I’ll get there ! :slightly_smiling_face:

Thank you for getting back to me, @travispatten !

While it is possible that an older version of your site is being cached locally, it should update right away for every new share.

With that being said, perhaps your theme is hiding this setting in the Online Store > Themes > Customize Theme > Theme Settings section?

If it’s still not there, then we can help you by taking a deeper look. While my hands are tied from looking into your account on our public spaces, our Support team is here to do just that. Reach out as soon as you can and we’d be glad to assist.

Warm regards,

did you ever figure this out? I am having the same issue

Thanks for reaching out, @avapaige !

Are you able to look up your social sharing image as per the earlier instruction I shared? If you can provide more context around what you are experiencing, what troubleshooting steps you have already tried and some screenshot examples - I can definitely help.

Warm regards,
