Hello, I opened a shop about 2 1/2 weeks ago at hostasapparel.com I ran a Pinterest ad at first and was getting about 30 visitors a day, I went without an ad for 3 days and only got 5 visitors a day, I just started an ad again, but have no analytics back on it yet. I also have an Instagram, my concern is why am I not getting more traffic? I am also having issues with the Google Merchant Sales Channel, many disapproved products and now my Merchant account is suspended. I’ve submitted my sitemap.xml to Google, I have a blog, and I have went through and edited my descriptions, titles, etc. Can anyone take a look at my shop and give me advice?
Hey, @katelynnhostas
Happy to offer some feedback! First of all, the website looks great! It’s very professional looking, and you do a good job modelling your products. A couple things I noticed:
-
Your price. The cost of the leggings are in the similar ballpark as well known legging brands such as Lululemon where a pair can go for $50-100. This is something to note that if a customer comes across your store, and the pricing is similar to a big brand such as that. You want to ensure you have answer to the question, “why should I buy from you compared to the big popular brand”. Whatever your answers are to this question, you want to ensure it’s highlighted in your store. Whether its the fabric (compare your superior fabric compared to standard fabric used by competitors), the unique designs, the affordability when purchasing in bulk (ex. your prodcuts may be equal in cost to big brand, but customers who buy 4+ of your products will save more compared to buying 4+ from the big brand), faster shipping times, or superior customer service. These are all things to consider.
-
Shipping times. I went to your checkout and noticed you offer a free and a paid shipping option. Editing the names of these shipping times to include the courier used + estimated shipping time timeline will go a long way to improving checkout rates:
- Your menu. I’d recommend devoting your top menu exclusively to shopping-based links. Break out your categories by the specific type of clothing so that your customers can filter the ones they want quickly. Don’t just hide everything behind a single ‘Tops’ or ‘Bottoms’ category. The result should be reflected in an increased add-to-cart rate. You can take this a step further by investing in a third-party Mega Menu app, such as Buddha Mega Menu. It is a feature-rich app that offers a wide variety of great features. Feel free to check out their app demo, here. There are a variety of other Mega Menu options in our app store that you can check out as well. However I have personal experience using Buddha, and I like it a lot!
If there is anything else I can help you with, please let me know.

@katelynnhostas I have two major pieces of advice I believe could be helpful.
-
You should carry out promotion and advertising on more than just Pinterest and Instagram. You should try out others such as Tik Tok especially which has proven very helpful for upcoming brands.

Selling in bundles usually has a better effect than selling products in a lone manner. You could bundle products such as yoga joggers and a matching sweatshirt. The Bundler Product Bundles App would be very useful in this aspect. This app handles the creation and even helps with matchmaking for bundle purposes. You can try it out here https://apps.shopify.com/bundler-product-bundles
