Hi! I’m trying to create a website for my friend’s driving school. Primarily it would involve a booking system, customer testimonials and information etc. Wouldn’t as such involve products but would involve different package deals or etc. Could someone advise me as to if someone thinks this is the right platform for this and why?

If selling scheduled services more research should be done, selecting shopify should have a very specific reason beyond just hearing about it.

If not selling anything, i.e. payment gateways etc are not need, then do not use shopify.

Is something being sold or not, if selling something that is a product regardless of verbiage; “packages” == product.

Shopify was not built as a reservation system, everything will have to be done with apps, such as bookthatapp.

You will have a constant learning curve and have to put in the work to make a good customer experience.

Shopify Focuses on Products:

  • Shopify is designed primarily for selling physical or digital products. While you could technically set up “packages” as products, it wouldn’t be as intuitive for managing bookings and scheduling lessons.

Limited Booking Functionality:

  • Shopify doesn’t have built-in booking functionality. You’d need to rely on third-party apps, which can add complexity and cost.

I’m Ray from Easy Appointment Booking. You can create a booking system on Shopify with this app as well as packages

  • Here’s an example of a single booking vs. a package, both offered right on your Shopify storefront: https://yogababble.myshopify.com/products/glo-coaching
  • Each booking gets registered in the app with an automatic email sent to that customer. The integration with Shopify tags the corresponding Shopify order and customer for quick and easy reporting
  • You can also add one-off dates, integrate your Google Calendar, and have all your payments flow through Shopify checkout.
