We are in search of a app which can give us both functionality discount plus free gift we need the app to automatically add free gift to cart plus discount can be apply by customers through discount codes

Hi Girish,

You can use the Every Possible Discount app to create Buy X Get Y discount which will automatically appy on your cart page and checkout as well, and this will not use the space of the existing discount code for this functionality.

However, in this app, the free gift will not get automatically added, it has to be added by the customer into their cart or you can do this via custom code.

If you’re looking for an app that can offer both discounts and free gifts and automatically add the free gift to the cart, I recommend trying the BOGOS App.

With BOGOS, you can set up multiple types of gift offers, all with auto-add-to-cart, such as:

  • BOGO

  • Buy X Get Y (free or discounted)

  • Buy More Get More

  • …and more

For discounts, you can also create:

  • Volume discounts

  • Discounts on the cheapest or most expensive item

This is quite a common setup - free gifts with auto-add to cart, combined with customer-applied discount codes.

Shopify natively doesn’t handle automatic free gift logic, so you’d need an app for that. However, the discount code you can create within Shopify’s native discounts, there’s no requirement to move that over to a third-party tool.

Monk Free Gift is built exactly for this. Full disclosure, I am a part of the team behind Monk.

Here’s how the two pieces work together:

  • Monk handles the free gift logic by auto-adding the gift to cart when eligibility conditions are met, and auto-removing it if the cart no longer qualifies
  • Monk’s discounts are built on Shopify Functions, so they’re designed to combine with native Shopify discount codes out of the box

The only thing to make sure on your end is that when you create your discount codes in Shopify, you allow them to combine with product discounts. Once that’s enabled, both will apply together without any conflicts.
