Hello Shopify Community,
I’m seeking recommendations for an app that replicates or closely mirrors the functionality of an app my client was using, called “Trade Orders,” which has recently been deleted from their Shopify storefront. The app allowed customers to build a shopping list of items they were interested in and then submit that list to request a quote from the business. No actual purchases were made through the Shopify site; instead, the final transaction, including shipping costs, was completed manually.
Here’s a bit more context:
-
Why we used “Trade Orders”: My client sells a wide variety of products, many of which need to ship via freight. Due to the complexity and variability of freight shipping calculations, they opted to manually process orders after reviewing the customer’s shopping list and figuring out the freight costs in-house.
-
Current Issue: Since the “Trade Orders” app was deleted, they are no longer able to receive these shopping lists, which has disrupted their workflow and ability to receive orders. They want to stick with the same process—allowing customers to submit lists for quotes, without processing orders directly through Shopify.
-
What we need: An app that will allow customers to add items to a list/cart and then submit that list for a quote, with no payment being processed online. It should fit with the manual sales process we have in place, where the client finalizes the shipping and overall total offline.
Here’s a link to the original “Trade Orders” app for additional context. Any suggestions for a replacement app or advice on how to recreate this setup within Shopify would be greatly appreciated. Thank you so much!
