Looking for beta testers for new analytics tool

In my day job i work as a software developer for a ecommerce company. I noticed that despite having entire departments dedicated to analytics and tracking it was still difficult to get it right. I figured if big companies have these issues they also apply to smaller ones.

Thats why i have started a little side project aiming to make analytics simpler for smaller companies. The idea is to build a service that allows you to create links and track stats for each individual link. That includes:

  • what product pages are visited after landing on the link destination

  • conversion rate, add to cart rate, purchase rate for the various pages the customer visits after clicking the link

The plan is to build it on top of GA4 so you wont have to integrate with yet another service in your store.

So my question for you guys is, do you think a tool like this would be usefull?

If yes, i am currently looking for a few people to interview about their tracking needs and later someone who would be interested in joining as beta testers for the solution.

Please also dont be shy to leave a comment if you hate the idea aswell, all feedback is much appreciated!

Hi @Kalmar

I totally get where you’re coming from. Tracking and analytics can be a nightmare even for big companies, so for smaller businesses with limited resources, it’s often an even bigger struggle. Many store owners rely on GA4, but making sense of the data—or even knowing which data matters—isn’t always straightforward.

Now, about your idea—honestly, it sounds like something a lot of Shopify store owners could benefit from. The ability to track what happens after someone clicks a link (not just the click itself) is huge. Knowing which product pages they visit, their add-to-cart behavior, and the final conversion rates gives a much clearer picture of what’s working and what’s not.

What stands out about your approach is that it’s built on top of GA4 rather than requiring another separate tool to integrate. That’s a smart move because many store owners already struggle with too many apps slowing down their store or adding complexity. If your tool simplifies how merchants analyze link performance without adding extra setup, I can see a lot of people being interested.

A few quick thoughts:

  • Will it allow tracking of different traffic sources (e.g., email, social media, paid ads) in one dashboard? That would be super helpful.
  • Can it provide insights on why a customer doesn’t convert, like tracking drop-off points in the journey?
  • How will it handle attribution? GA4’s default attribution modeling can be tricky, so simplifying that could be a game-changer.

I think you’ll definitely find Shopify merchants who would love to beta-test this. If you’re looking for testers, maybe post in Shopify Facebook groups or Reddit communities like r/shopify.

Count me in if you need feedback—I’d love to see how this evolves!

If you need any other assistance, feel free to reply and I will try my best to help.
Best regards,
Daisy
