Looking for feedback on my new niche fragrance store

Topic summary

A UK-based Shopify store owner launched Scent Arabia UK, specializing in Arabic and Dubai-style perfumes, and is seeking feedback on design, product pages, and mobile UX before scaling traffic.

Positive Reception:

  • Reviewers praised the clean, minimal aesthetic and professional appearance
  • The vintage, authentic vibe aligns well with the luxury perfume niche
  • Product page information is appropriately balanced

Key Recommendations:

  • Image Quality: Add hover images showing products from multiple angles; improve desktop image resolution (currently blurry when expanded)
  • Product Details: Move disclaimer text to terms/policies instead of product pages, as opening lines may reduce buyer confidence; reposition shipping info above disclaimer
  • Customer Support: Add FAQ page and live chat widget to address common questions and improve conversion rates
  • Visual Enhancements: Include close-up material shots to showcase texture and quality

Status: The store owner acknowledged feedback and committed to implementing urgent updates, particularly around disclaimer placement and image quality improvements.

Hey everyone,

I’ve recently launched my Shopify store focusing on Arabic and Dubai-style perfumes in the UK. I’ve used the Xclusive theme and tried to keep things clean and minimal while focusing on user experience and storytelling through product pages.

Would love to get your feedback on:

  • Overall design and feel of the site

  • Product page layout – too much info or just right?

  • Any UX issues you spot, especially on mobile

Here’s the site: Scent Arabia UK

Any constructive criticism would be appreciated! Always looking to improve before I start pushing more traffic through SEO and paid channels.

Thanks in advance!

Hi @ZishanAhmed283 ,

Thanks for reaching out to the community. We are MooseDesk, a comprehensive Live Chat, FAQ & Helpdesk App designed to elevate your customer support experience.

Congrats on your new store! It has quite enough essential information. However, we can make it even better. Here are some of my recommendations to improve customer experience, please kindly check.

1.Add a second image on hover

A second image on hover lets your customers see the product from different angles or contexts. For example, you can show the clothing item worn by a model or styled differently.

This can encourage users to interact with product images and keep visitors on the page longer, thus increasing the likelihood of purchase.

2. Add detailed images that showcase the product’s material

Close-up images of materials allow customers to understand better the product’s texture, quality, and appearance. This can significantly reduce uncertainty and improve conversion rate.

3. Add a customer support section

  • An FAQ page: An FAQ page serves multiple purposes such as improving customer experience, reducing customer support load and enhancing SEO.

  • A live chat widget: Don’t overlook the importance of customer support for your new online store. Being available whenever customers need you the most can help drive more conversion to your store. You can consider adding live chat, which is a widget that pops up on your website

I suggest exploring MooseDesk, a free Live Chat, FAQ & Helpdesk App. MooseDesk provides auto-reply features during non-business hours, a proactive help center, and a user-friendly widget layout, offering an effective solution to enhance customer support on your platform.

As an expert/enthusiast in UX, I recommend implementing these changes to improve customer experience when scrolling through your store.

Hi Zishan,

This is a beautiful store and I can see alot of effort and thought is behind it. In terms of the overall design, I am getting a sort of vintage and authentic vibe from the store. My first impression is´that the store is professional & genuine - you have all the pictures proportional and little details such as ‘inspired by xx’.

The product page details are just right. I am wondering if the disclaimer is neccessary at this point or would it be turning some buyers down. The first and second line do not inspire confidence - can they be put in the policies or terms & conditions instead? I would also move the shipping information above disclaimer.

Lastly, I found that the photos when expanded on the desktop view to be quire blurry. It looks fine on mobile unless zoomed in.

Thank you so much for your kind words and thoughtful feedback, I really appreciate you taking the time to go through the store in detail.

I’m glad the overall look and feel came across as authentic and professional, that’s exactly what I was going for!

You’ve raised some really valid points, especially about the disclaimer and image quality on desktop. I agree that the disclaimer might be better placed within the terms & conditions, and I’ll also look into adjusting the placement of the shipping info as suggested.

I’ll be working on these updates on an urgent basis – really appreciate your insight. It’s always helpful to have a fresh set of eyes on things.

Thanks again!
