Looking for Form Advice

Looking for advice and suggestions for Apps Related To Forms.

The solution I need will allow users to submit a form with basic information and a few photos.
This feature we need most is a way to know when submissions are made and that allow for ease of finding the requests, and replying to the requests. Email is nice but some sort of Backend that allows for submission to be easily delt with, tracked, and that someway shows the a request has been completed is most desired.

Frankly, The built in Shopify forms suck and the built in app is not a solution!

If you have a suggestions or any help I would greatly appreciate hearing from you.
Thanks In advance.

Hey @TravelingBags

There are a lot of third party app form builders out there which you can use but most of them usually have a monthly subscription. According to your requirements, I think
Powerful Contact Form Builder would be a good option but again it has a monthly subscription too.

If you don’t wanna pay every month for the app then you can just simply custom code and upgrade the default Shopify form with the help of a Shopify developer. It’s totally upto you how you wanna proceed.

Best,
Moeed

There are free options as well like emailjs but it has a limit of only 200 submissions. You will need to implement this with custom code.

If you are just starting to try this out and believe there won’t be to much of submissions you can try this

I don’t mind paying for an app, if it works.. Also the form is used a few times per week. In addition to our store and selling for repair items. and the form is used to request information regarding getting repairs done.. IE… Can you fix this?? and they send us pictures….

If you don’t mind a subscription then I believe you should be open to lot of options including the one I told you.

But I would suggest looking to Shopify apps itself. I remember one of my clients using zeno for building a form through which customers made their request.

There are definitely lot more in the Shopify app store. All must have some days of free trial as well, why not try some and choose amongst that

Shopify has a Forms app (free).

While it is primarily intended for collection of e-mails and newsletter subscription, it allows to add file uploads and other necessary fields.
Importantly, the app creates a metaobject with all this data for each form submission.

This can be paired with Shopify Flow app (free again) which can trigger actions when metaobject is created, so you can process the data and send e-mail notification to yourself.

@TravelingBags What you are looking for is a custom form builder with a lightweight CRM. You may try Simply Forms. You can leverage its free plan if you only have dozens of submissions per month.

Here is how it meets your requirements:

  • Supports photo and file uploads.

  • Sends autoresponder emails to customers when a form is submitted. Additionally, it generates Flow triggers so you can create workflows to send notification emails to your staff using Flow’s out-of-the-box Send internal email action.

  • Allows you to manage submissions using filters, search, views, etc.

  • Lets you send transactional emails to customers for each submission. All interactions with customers are logged in the timeline.

  • Enables you to customize submission statuses such as New, Open, Pending, Approved, Closed, etc.

May I politely ask if you have tried the software recommended to you in the reply? If you have time, could you share your experience using them? So far I have only used 4Seller, and I would like to switch if there is a better option. Thank you~
