Looking for Inventory Adjustment Alternatives

Now that Stocky is being sunset shortly, we are looking for an alternative way to manage stock adjustments.

While Shopify’s native stock adjustment functionality covers the basic adjustment process, it lacks the ability to add a custom reason or note to each inventory adjustment. This was a valuable feature in Stocky that helped us maintain clear audit trails and better understand the context behind inventory changes.

Adding the ability to record a custom adjustment reason or note would significantly improve inventory management, reporting, and accountability. It would allow teams to document why adjustments were made (e.g., damaged items, cycle counts, receiving discrepancies, transfers, or other operational reasons) and make it easier to review inventory history over time.

We would greatly appreciate the addition of this functionality to Shopify’s native inventory management tools.

@maryjapanla With Stocky going away, and our own users asking us for a robust way to handle POs and light inventory management / reordering with Shopify; we decided to build our own solution, but for free; and it does indeed include custom notes!

Check it out at Stockroom - Stockroom ‑ Purchase Orders - Unlimited purchase orders, receiving & sync with QuickBooks | Shopify App Store - we’re making it completely free for everyone!

We think Shopify merchants deserve a robust, stable and long term way to handle Purchase Orders (and the re-ordering/receiving processes that come with them) in a way that fits their business, and not at an additional cost.
