I currently sell archery equipment. On the website I have several sizes of carbon fibre shafts and within each one I have different spine. for each spine we offer 3 different inserts for the end.
I am looking to track the inventory of the main shaft spine separately from the inserts, so if I have 5x 300spine arrows but no 40grain inserts it will still allow someone to purchase with another type and show the 40grain ones as out of stock.
It syncs the inventory of products that use the same raw materials. You would enter a material into the app for your each of your different spines and inserts. Then link each of your existing products/variants to the appropriate materials.
When one of the arrows is sold the associated spine and insert material will have their inventory reduced in the app. Then all other products that use the same spine or insert will also have their inventory updated.
Depending on how much you are looking to track the app have a free plan that might cover you.
You can absolutely handle this setup with Easify Inventory Sync. The app allows you to track your arrow shafts and inserts separately while keeping inventory automatically synchronized across all products that use the same insert.
Setup steps:
Create your arrow variants
You can keep your existing setup with different shaft sizes and spine options. For example, you may have 300 Spine, 350 Spine, and 400 Spine variants, each offering multiple insert options such as 40 Grain, 50 Grain, and 75 Grain.
Set up an Inventory Group for each insert
Use Easify Inventory Sync to create an Inventory Group for each insert type.
For example, create one Inventory Group for all products using the 40 Grain Insert, another group for the 50 Grain Insert, and another for the 75 Grain Insert.
Add all relevant products or variants that use the same insert to the corresponding Inventory Group and enable inventory syncing.
How it works
All products connected to the same Inventory Group share the inventory of that insert. If the 40 Grain Insert inventory reaches zero, every product or variant linked to that Inventory Group will automatically reflect that availability.
For example, if you have 5 units of a 300 Spine shaft available but no 40 Grain Inserts left in stock, customers will still be able to purchase the shaft with other available insert types, while the 40 Grain option will be unavailable.
Everything happens automatically in the background, allowing you to manage shaft inventory and insert inventory separately without manually updating each product combination.
This solution works especially well for products built from shared components, where one accessory or part is used across multiple products and inventory needs to stay synchronized across all of them.
The app is very easy to use and user-friendly. If you need any help during the setup, the Easify team is always ready to assist via live chat inside the app
Keep shafts and inserts as separate products with independent inventory, then use the Infinite options App to link them together at the product page.
In that way, each item tracks stock separately.
Reviving this thread because I’m curious if there have been any updates or new apps that might offer similar features to Material Manager for inventory management. Have any of you tried other solutions since then? It’d be great to hear about any additional options or improvements that have worked for your shops!
