Hi All,
Recently, we migrated our site techno-pm.com from Blogger to Shopify.
After migration, we have lost the majority of our image rankings.
Has anybody faced a similar issue and resolved it?
Does it improve over time? It’s been three weeks since the migration.
Thanks,
Swapnil
Hello @Swapnil_Wale
Maybe your image links were changed after migration.
The ranking is bind to the url. Therefore, if the url change, ranking will be lost.
Hi @Swapnil_Wale ,
It’s not uncommon to experience fluctuations in search rankings after a site migration. The impact on image rankings can be influenced by various factors such as changes in URLs, metadata, and overall site structure.
To improve your image rankings, consider the following:
-
Image Alt Text: Ensure that each image has descriptive and relevant alt text.
-
Sitemap Submission: Submit a new sitemap to Google Search Console to help search engines crawl and index your images.
-
Page Load Speed: Check if the migration affected the loading speed of your pages, as this can impact rankings.
-
Backlinks: If there were changes in URLs, make sure to update any internal and external links pointing to your images.
-
Google Images SEO: Optimize your images specifically for Google Images by providing high-quality images, relevant filenames, and captions.
Give it some more time, as it can take a few weeks for search engines to fully index and adjust to the changes. If issues persist, you might want to consult with an SEO specialist to perform a detailed analysis.
