Help! Unlicensed Theme Warnings
Hi Shopify Support Team,
I hope you can help me with this. I’ve been getting some emails from a Shopify partner saying I’m using an unlicensed theme, but I’m pretty sure I’m using a theme I got from Shopify.
I’m a bit freaked out because I don’t know if these emails are legit or some kind of scam.
I’m worried and could really use your help to sort this out.

No I actually developed this website my own watching YouTube videos.
Did you purchase any theme? Could you please share your store URL?

Really sorry to hear that this has happened to you, may I ask if you developed this site on your own and added the theme or was it done by a 3rd party developer?

Hello! Thanks for messaging..Actually I developed this site alone and I
didn’t used any third party theme! I only used the theme which is provided
by shopify.

That’s odd, did you by any chance copy & paste any liquid code or any code for that matter from a paid theme to yours when you were creating it/modifying it?

This is really wierd! I didn’t posted any codes! Those mails came from "
Shopifypartner227@gmail.com" I actually don’t know if I can contact from
anywhere with Shopify directly regarding this matter
Do not worry @Rai404 . This is definitely not an email from Shopify. Relax and ignore these emails which does not have the shopify domain

In that case, then this is definitely a scam as Shopify does not write from a gmail account. There is no need to worry
