Main domain shows as shopify.com on the address bar

hi,
I created a customer accounts page and for that created a subdomain account.stylisize.store
set this as the main domain for customer accounts. Added the cname on the panel also added an A record to point to the shopify servers . Now when i type account.stylisize.store i am presented with “shopify.com……” address on the address bar instead of account.stylisize.store, I

have tried probably everything to make account.stylisize.store to show as the address on the address bar but still the same results. If anyone knows how to sort this would be great as it’s quite annoying.

Have you tried to check your DNS settings to ensure that the CNAME record for “account.stylisize.store” points to your Shopify store and that the A record is correctly configured to point to Shopify’s servers. You can verify this with your domain registrar or hosting provider.

Hey @stylisize !

It looks like you are currently using Shopify’s new customer accounts system, which has the login and account pages hosted directly by Shopify, separate from the rest of your theme and site. There’s currently no way to change this for new customer accounts, so the only way to do this would be to go into your Shopify admin settings and changing to classic customer accounts.

I changed it to the old customer accounts system but still the same issue. Anyhow i don’t think this is related with the old or new accounts as you see from the screenshot it says that account.stylisize

.store should be the address to share for customer accounts.

I just created a new cname with “account” pointing at stylisize.store. And an A record with @ pointing at shopify server.

hope this will work.

Hey @stylisize ,

I believe the page that you are referring to here is the Shopify new customer account login page, and per Shopify’s documentation, this will always use a shopify.com domain (https://help.shopify.com/en/manual/domains/add-a-domain/connecting-domains/connect-domain-customer-account).

Once you actually log in, it should then redirect to the custom subdomain you set up. Also keep in mind that if you just set this up, it may take some time (up to 48 hours also per Shopify’s docs) before the domain and DNS settings are fully updated.

Hi @Brett ,

Yes you’re right i just read the guide. I have to switch back to the old account system and wait for the system to update.

thanks

After 48 hours of waiting the customers account page still shows shopify.com on the address bar until i log in, then it changes to the primary domain. But as i am using the old version of the customer accounts system, the primary domain should show up as account.stylisize.store, and not shopify.com

Hi,

Did you manage to solve the issue? I have the same problem.
