Hi Shopify community, i noticed today from a customer complaim that Google Recaptcha is not working.
A customer get in touch with our sales team complaining that her cannot create an account on our store, i tried on my local machine and received the same error, but not only i cannot create accounts but neither login i could do.
@PatrickVieira we are having the same issue this morning. It appears to be related to the Recaptcha plugin on the login/register forms. I had to disable it at Online Store > Preferences > Spam Protection. Once I disabledGoogle reCAPTCHA on login, create account and password recovery pages, everything is working again. We’ll have to leave it disabled until further notice from Shopify:
We’re having the same issue…and the challenge of course is not knowing it’s an issue and lost revenue from potential customers until that one customer informs you of the problem.
Just had to disable reCaptcha as well. And of course reaching support is just about impossible now to raise the flag on this issue.
Sorry to hear this is still an issue. We’ve had reCAPTCHA turned off since my last post and never looked back.. Hopefully disabling it won’t have much of an impact for you either.
Here’s hoping. We turned it only because we were getting a LOT of spam and
phishing scams (they grabbed our email address from our auto-reply emails
sent from the contact form. I’m guessing that will return eventually, so
will need to look into another solution).
I’m having the same issue with recaptcha not showing anything on the screen except a button which does nothing so I had to disable. I’m getting hit with thousands of fake accounts but with recaptcha not working, I have no other option but to disable.
