How do I add additional sections of customer registration when they sign up to my store.
So other than email and password, I want them to add their school name. My goal is to make student discount, so that is why it will be easier for me to know which school they are coming from and we can confirm with the student organization.
Could someone help me with this?

Your ability to add those extra fields to the newsletter signup may depend on your theme, but it is achievable through custom coding.
I have a guide for you here from our dev Help Centre on how you can Collect Additional Customer Information. You will find that it shows what needs to be changed in the code in order to be able to do this.
Before you make any coding changes to your theme, I recommend you duplicate it following these steps here and edit the code on the copied version. The reason that you should do it this way is just in case something goes wrong along the way while you’re editing the code - and any mistakes or issues will only be reflected in the copy, but you will also have your untouched original.
If you’re not comfortable making any of the coding changes yourself. you can look into this with a Shopify Expert. Shopify Experts are people who work externally to Shopify and charge their rates based on the work that they do. They’re able to help out when it comes to custom coding related questions.
