Make ATC redirect to cart (Aurora theme)

Hello,

I am using the Aurora theme and would like the add to cart button to redirect to the cart page.

We only offer flower bouquets and got no incentive to keep someone shopping around since we can’t make any upsells yet (shopify does not support german shipping taxes of different VAT %), so we would like to push customers towards the cart-page and checkout quickly.

Any help is appreciated, especially localizing the button within the theme code.

If you look at the theme settings you will probably have the option to select the page option when someone clicks on the bag icon or someone adds to cart, ofcourse if your theme offers this setting. If not, then this will need to be looked at. Will need to see the code which handles add to cart function and add the redirection code to the cart page.

Fortunately the date picker App developer fixed the app design for my themes drawer, so I no longer need to skip it. That means I no longer need any adjustments, although it would still be interesting to know the location of the add to cart button code in the Aurora theme code.

Great to hear that, but do you have that feature in your theme settings. If you go to your theme settings you will find that under cart. If you select the page option the atc button will also redirect to cart page when a user adds a product.

Hi! Ann here from the Aurora dev team.

  1. To switch to the cart page mode in the theme, go to Theme settings > Cart and switch to the ‘Page only’ cart display (see my screenshot). If you want, you can also hide the popup (in the corner of the screenshot) that appears on-click by unchecking ‘Hide transitional popup’ (the letter option is available in newer theme versions, so you might need to update your theme).

  1. To push customers towards the cart page on clicking ‘Add to cart’ you’ll need to tweak the theme code a bit.

Please, contact our support team via this form, and we’ll help you with this small adjustment: https://getsitecontrol.getform.com/l15wd

  1. As for localization, the best solution is to use Shopify’s native Translate & Adapt app

There, you can manually translate your store content (including the ‘Add to cart’ button) or even auto-translate into 1 language for free.

If you like my suggestion, please consider giving it a like :+1: and marking it as an accepted solution. That way, you’ll help other community members having similar questions.
