Make language selector links visible (not obfuscate)

Hi,

I have a multilingual website: https://www.temporalis.tattoo

For SEO purpose, I need to make visible the links of the language selector. By default, they are hidden (obfuscated).

Below, an example of what I am talking about, on Amazon.

Does anyone already done this? And give some solution or hint?

Thanks for your help.

Hi @Milords ,

The language switcher links are irrelevant for SEO as far as I know.

The hreflang tags tell Google which languages are available on your store and which ccTLDs, subdomains or, subdirectories they are mapped to.

The Shopify Markets feature sets your hreflang tags automatically based on your Markets configuration.

Here’s how your hreflang tags currently show up on your store:

Note that most of the language switcher apps (if any) don’t use language switchers that link the subdirectories directly because this is neither a best practice nor relevant for SEO.

If you’d still like to rewrite your language switcher then I’d recommend hiring a Shopify Developer to do this for you https://www.shopify.com/partners/directory

Hi @michaelivanov_1

Thank you for your reply. I am not an SEO specialist, so it is not always easy to know what the best practices are on SEO as it is constantly changing.

However, I have decided to trust my SEO expert that I have been working with for years.

I also noticed that Shopify itself does it (the visible links on the language switcher) on its website.

Thanks for providing the Partners Directory.

Have a nice day.
