I have a web shop using the Debut theme. When a user goes to the store, products are listed by A-Z and they have to select from a drop-down if they want products to be listed by ‘Date – new to old’. Which I’m sure that almost no one does. How can I change this so that products are listed by new to old by default whenever a user visits the store? Thanks!
Hello @Peninsula1 ,
Go to the Products → Collections from the admin. Open any collection and select the Newest sorting from the section.
Hi there, Thanks for this. This sorts them in the back-end, but it doesn’t sort them in the front-end. I want shop users to automatically see all products displayed from newest to oldest. Thanks!
Hello @Peninsula1 , Can you please share your store URL?
Also, Did you test it on your store? It is working for me and it takes some time to reflect on the storefront.
Thanks! Here’s the URL: https://peninsulapress.co.uk/collections/all
Hi @Peninsula1 ,
Do you want to use the sorting for “Products” in this collection? Because it is Shopify default collection that shows all products in the store. You can create a new collection change the handle with “/all” and assign all the products to it. Once done set the sorting to “Newest” from the admin section and then open the collection storefront URL.
Note: You have to set the sorting to “Newest” for every collection you want to sort from New to Old on the storefront.
Sorted – thanks so much!!
You are most welcome @Peninsula1 ![]()
