I uploaded this image to my homepage slideshow but it is noticeably less quality than the image. How can I fix this? The image is in a 9:4 ratio and is 2048 x 910px.
Topic summary
A user uploaded a 2048 x 910px image to their homepage slideshow but noticed significant quality loss compared to the original. The image appears compressed on the storefront to 1400 × 622px.
Suggested solutions include:
- Uploading a higher resolution version (4096 x 1820px recommended)
- Converting to SVG format for sharper display
- Investigating the upload location/settings where compression may be occurring
Current status:
The user confirmed the original image is sharp and Shopify is compressing it. A helper requested a screenshot of where the image is being uploaded to identify the compression source. The issue remains unresolved as the user seeks clarification on how to prevent the automatic compression.
Hi @Jarch2
Can you share me your store url & password (if applicable) then I will check then give you the solution
Which slide show section are you using? I see the image on storefront have Intrinsic size is 1400 × 622 px so we should update at the upload side
Is there a way to make the size bigger?
can you screenshot where did upload and select this image?
Hello @Jarch2
Higher Resolution Image Upload - 4096x1820px
Hi @Jarch2
I noticed that your original image isn’t very sharp either. You could convert the image to SVG format and choose sharper images.
