I have a lot of product subcategories that I want to add to the filter bar for the main product pages. For example, when you’re on the bong product page there need to be filters for all of the bong subcats that i have in the header menu like percolated bongs, strong bongs, beaker-bottom, etc. I am trying to create metafields or metaobjects and I cant seem to find a complete answer for the steps to accomplish this. Any help is appreciated.

You don’t need metaobjects for this, you can do it with a simple product metafield and search & discovery app.
“subcategories” are just custom filters named/labeled to suit the need for the concept.
Beyond just reading about the S&D apps available features in the friendly manual your business depends you’d need to be VASTLY more descriptive of what you have tried and any blockers.
