Hello, I’d like a better way to manage what products & variants our wholesale customers see. We’re currently using Locksmith, which allows us to manage product visibility by tagging customers, but it is extremely time-consuming to make edits if you ever have to change the variant name (basically starting over the setup, although Ken, the developer, is super nice!).
Any suggestion? App? Anything.

The sanest way to do this on the platform is by being on a Shopify Plus plan using the B2B features.
For non-plus stores you need heavy theme modification and some forethought on how you’ll manage this day to day using metafields and or tags, etc.
And bookend the process with backend automation to validate orders in case any get through especially if the business is multi-channel.

Shopify plus offers some features and apps exclusive to Shopify plus store owners. I would suggest to talk to representative here and learn more what they can offer.
Respectfully this does not require Shopify Plus; Plus is a fantastic plan BUT it is also a solutions that costs, at minimum, $2,000US per month to use. Definitely not for everyone - and certainly not required to do this customization.
