We run a Shopify store that allows our customers to order items that are in stock, in transit, in production, or will be produced in a future production run. At any given time, we have as many as 8 different production runs in different phases of our supply chain. We couldn’t figure out how to set this up within our Shopify store. As a workaround, we set up our store to have multiple SKUs for 1 single item depending on its production run (as many as 8 SKUs for the same product). This doesn’t seem right. Is there a better way to set this up in our Shopify store? Is there a cost-effective App that we could add that would allow us to track a single SKU across multiple production runs?
