Manual collection sorting broken across pages

Recent updates to collection management have removed the ability to manually move products across pages when using “Sort: Manually.” Previously, I could drag and drop products to any position in the collection, including moving sold-out products to the end across page boundaries. This was essential for merchandising.

Now the collection editor only shows 60 products per page, with no way to move items between pages. This is a significant step backward in functionality and directly impacts how I manage my store’s product presentation.

Would anyone have a sensible workaround for this, or know where to submit a request to Shopify to undo this nonsense?

Yes, this is a limitation in the latest Shopify updates.

However, you can manage this using the Position tool:

  • If you want to move all sold-out products to the end:

    • Select all sold-out products

    • Use **Position options : **
      top
      bottom
      custom

  • If you want to move products anywhere specific:

    • Use the Custom position option in the Position tool

    • Enter the desired position within the collection

Please refer to the attached screenshot for better understanding.

In above screenshot 73 are the total number of products in collections

Thank you. This solved the problem, altough it’s more of a downgrade than an improvement.
