Manually mark order as 'Delivered'

I’m a store owner and have encountered an issue with a customer’s order. The shipping label insurance was accidentally voided, but the order was still successfully delivered to the customer. However, the order status in our account shows it as being on hold.

Is there any way to manually mark this order as delivered in the system to resolve the hold status?

Order status could change to delivered automatically based on tracking ID only. You cannot change it manually.

I ran into this too. Orders shipped with custom carriers never moved to delivered, which caused issues for analytics and automations.

What worked for me was a small tool that lets you manually trigger the delivered status in Shopify.

For reference, the one I use is called Mark Delivered.

I found an app called Mark Delivered to help with this.

Hey @angel6,

No, Shopify doesn’t let you manually flip an order to Delivered. That status only updates when Shopify receives a delivery confirmation from the carrier via the tracking number. So even if you know it was delivered, if the tracking never reports “Delivered” back to Shopify (or insurance was voided and tracking stopped updating), the order just stays stuck.

What most stores do in this situation:

  • add an order note confirming delivery

  • remove or resolve the hold manually so it doesn’t block workflows

  • rely on the carrier’s tracking page or POD for internal records

If you want customers to still see a clear delivery status even when Shopify’s order pill doesn’t update, ParcelWILL Order Tracking (formerly ParcelPanel Order Tracking) helps by showing real delivery updates on a branded tracking page, independent of Shopify’s limited carrier sync.

Hope this helps a bit! If it does, feel free to mark it as a solution so others can find it too :slightly_smiling_face:
