Many add to cart/checkout and 0 purchase

Topic summary

Severe checkout drop‑off: 275 add‑to‑cart, 154 reached checkout, but only 1 purchase from ~2,000 sessions. The lone successful order used Apple Pay and bypassed the checkout page, increasing suspicion of checkout or processor issues.

Store details noted: free delivery; concise descriptions; trust badges plus delivery/returns info on product pop‑up (may be duplicated on page); 1‑page checkout taking under 2 minutes; payment options include Apple Pay, Google Pay, PayPal, American Express, Visa, Mastercard; abandoned cart/checkout emails enabled. Technical tests by the owner and others worked; a $0.10 “Test Wig” product is available for additional testing.

Advice offered: check for discrepancies between product pages and checkout information, and confirm customers’ countries are serviceable for shipping. Run a store audit with behavior tracking tools (e.g., Hotjar, Smartlook); the owner already uses Hotjar and Microsoft Clarity.

Most recent update: possible PayPal issue to be re‑tested. Status: unresolved; pending deeper analytics review and payment gateway validation, with community testing invited via the low‑cost test item.

Hi there. On my store i have 275 add to cart, 154 checkouts, and only 1 sale (from 2k sessions). Made test payments - everything works. But the only successful sale that was (by the way, it was the day before yesterday) made with the Apple Pay, the person did not go to the checkout page, so I began to doubt the checkout page even more.

The site looks very well. You have nice media and stuff.

Check for any discrepancies b/n product page and checkout info.

Or see if your clients are from countries you can ship to.

Good luck!

Hi, thanks for the help.

  1. We offer free delivery.

  2. There is nothing more to add in the description.

  3. Trust badges have been added to the pop-up on the product page, along with delivery/return information, and may be duplicated on the page.

  4. The ordering process takes no more than 2 minutes, 1 page with standard fields.

  5. Payment methods: Apple Pay, Google Pay, PayPal, American Express, Visa, Mastercard.

  6. Abandoned cart/Checkouts emails installed.

  7. Technically everything works, checked by me and several other people. Perhaps if someone wants to check additionally (for which I will be very grateful), a test product is available on the site for $0.1, you can find it through the search - Test Wig.

Thanks for your help and advice! I will analyze further.

Thank you very much for the kind words, a lot of time and effort has been invested into this site, and it seems to me that it is not inferior to the big players in the market, but for some reason users do not think so :slightly_smiling_face:

Hello @DrDollar ,

I think you need to make an audit of your store, look at the analytics, and set up some tracking tools like Hotjar, Smartlook, or others to get data on user behavior.

Best regards,
Anastasia
