Have you noticed that lately you’ve seen several TikTok videos from e-commerce businesses using AI-powered storytelling? Many of you probably feel frustrated because they’re your competition, practically dominating the market, customers, and profits. If you’re still reading this, let me tell you that these businesses are likely run by a large team. Everything seems very mechanical and meticulous, something impossible for a solo entrepreneur. What I mean is that their profits are meager because they’re divided among many people. It’s ironic because they’re the ones who steal our customers. I’m having the same problem, so you’re not alone. I’d like to connect more with people in the same situation. Reply here, and then we’ll see how we can support each other to survive in the world of e-commerce.
Hi @Kuroashi,
I totally get your frustration. I honestly do not like how the internet is flooded with cheap “AI slop” right now either. It often feels soulless and loses that real human connection.
However, it really seems like an inevitable trend. Everyone is jumping on it because it can bring in decent results while costing way less time and money. But I actually have to disagree about the team size. Small businesses and solo founders are definitely not out of this game. In fact, AI tools are exactly what allow solo entrepreneurs to create that level of content without needing to hire a massive team and split the profits!
How are you currently trying to stand out against all this automated content? I would love to hear more about your experience and share some ideas!
Yeah, that’s been my experience too. Building a traditional ecommerce business pretty much takes either a team or a serious upfront investment. It took me almost a year to get mine off the ground, because content is only part of it. You’re also setting up the actual business, dealing with suppliers, and constantly keeping an eye on the market.
So when you mention there are tools out there now that use AI to help you survive against companies flooding the market, that really catches my attention. I’d genuinely love to hear more about that.
I’ve spent a ton of time trying to find something that gives me an edge, and I always feel like I’m missing a piece of the puzzle. Would you mind if I shoot you an email? Or I can drop you mine, whatever’s easier. Either way, I’d really appreciate learning how you’re approaching this kind of competition.
Hi. @Kuroashi
Doing great, I hope!
You are not alone, AI-driven competitor accounts are often big teams with thin margins, not solo superpowers.
Let’s connect and help each other out!

Hi @Kuroashi
This is Identixweb, a Shopify Development Agency
I wouldn’t fully agree with the “large team = low profits” assumption. I think in reality, a lot of these AI-driven TikTok stores are lean solo or small-team setups with strong creative + ad systems.
The real differentiator is usually execution speed, creative testing volume, and retention strategy, not team size.
Are you seeing more of an ad/creative gap in your niche, or is it mainly competition on pricing and acquisition?
