Marketplace Connect - How many listings are possible?

Hy! Can anyone tell me, how many listings are possible to list on ebay in 1 day?
Marketplace Connect won`t let me sync my existing listings on ebay to my stock at shopify.
I have a large number of listings (453.000) on ebay. Marketplace Connect Support did not get it managed for 21 days now. I have escalated the ticket and since days nothing happens, they simple don`t get it managed.
So my solution would, end all listings on ebay and start it new via Marketplace connect… so i hope this can be managed anyways, otherwise they should write a limit, so that anyone is aware with large no. of articles not to use it.

Can anyone tell me how fast new listings are send to ebay?

Hi Harald81,

with 453k listings this is most likely a scaling/API sync issue between Shopify Marketplace Connect and eBay rather than a normal listing limit problem.

eBay listing speed usually depends on:
• Your eBay seller account limits
• API rate limits
• Marketplace Connect queue processing
• Variations and item specifics on the listings

For smaller catalogs, syncing is normally quite fast, but with hundreds of thousands of SKUs the app may process listings in batches and can take a very long time if the catalog structure is not optimized properly.

Personally, I would be very careful about ending all active eBay listings immediately because:
• You could lose listing history/watchers
• Re-indexing 453k listings may take a long time
• eBay may temporarily throttle massive relisting activity

A safer approach may be:

  1. Test syncing with a smaller batch first

  2. Verify Marketplace Connect is handling inventory mapping correctly

  3. Check if duplicate SKU structures or variation conflicts exist

  4. Confirm whether your eBay account has API-related throughput limitations

It definitely sounds frustrating after 21 days though. Hopefully support escalates it properly because that catalog size requires enterprise-level synchronization handling.

Hope this helps a bit.

Thank you for your reply. An initial sync is not possible with CSV, as Marketplace Connect.
How can i push it to the next lever support?

Hi there @Harald81,

I am so sorry you’ve been stuck waiting on support for weeks, but please do not end your 453,000 eBay listings to start fresh! You will lose all your hard-earned eBay sales history and SEO rankings, and it is physically impossible to push that many listings in a single day due to eBay’s strict API rate limits. Marketplace Connect usually only processes a few thousand updates per day at best, so starting over would literally take months and would likely crash the app all over again. The honest truth is that the free Marketplace Connect app simply isn’t built to handle a catalog of half a million SKUs reliably. For an inventory of your massive size, you will likely need to look into a heavy-duty, enterprise-level multichannel tool like Linnworks or ChannelAdvisor that is specifically designed to handle massive API data loads without choking.

Hope this helps,

Hello @Harald81
eBay has different listing limits based on your account type, and your seller performance, these can range from a couple of hundred for newer accounts up to tens of thousands for established sellers with high limits.

With Marketplace Connect, large catalogs like yours (400k+) won’t reliably sync in one go. Due to eBay API and rate limits updates can take minutes for each batch or a number of hours depending on volume.

Rather than relisting them all, batched updates in increments based on an incremental sync by collections or tags is a safer way. Like many large sellers, you can use Marketplace Connect AND eBay File Exchange for bulk management without having to re-create your entire catalog and risk introducing delays or errors.
