How do I get the master category to show all sub-categories?
For example if the master Category collection is “Clothing”. When I click on “Clothing” how do I get it show all the collections?sub-categories in that master category?
Clothing = Underwear, t-shirts, socks.
I’ve tried to create a collection of the collections but this doesn’t seem to be an option?
If you are, you can set this up through coding customization. This tutorial will show you how to create it on a vintage Shopify theme, or the themes mentioned in the tutorial. You’re welcome to follow it if you’re comfortable with coding. Otherwise, you can visit https://bit.ly/3cJkx8V and reach out to our support team to see if it is possible to have this tutorial done by our Theme Support on your vintage Shopify theme. Please feel free to go over the Shopify Design Policy to check if your store is eligible for customization support beforehand. If you’re not using a vintage Shopify theme, you can hire a Shopify Expert to create the page instead.
If you’re not looking to create the above, did you want to create a dropdown menu that shows the subcategories underneath the parent menu item, such as the image below?
If so, it can easily be done through your Shopify admin, without any coding customization needed. You can follow the guide on this page to create a dropdown menu.
